This article describes how to stop the Agent Handler service before running the Cumulative Update on ePO.
Perform either of the following options to check the number of Agent Handlers reporting to ePO:
Option 1:
- Log on to the ePO console.
- Go to Configuration, Agent Handlers.
- Under Handler Status, click on the number of Agent Handlers to view the list of Agent Handlers with IP and Host name.
Option 2:
- Log on to the ePO console.
- Go to Configuration, Server Settings.
- Under Setting Categories, select Server Information.
- Once the page loads, scroll to the top and check the list of Agent Handlers with host name.
The example of the Agent Handler name is shown in the server information page as below:
The Agent Handler name is
CLIENT (it's reflected in the console).
It's recommended to stop the services of the Agent Handler, because the active sessions to the database for multiple activities from the Agent Handler might interrupt the running of scripts that execute during the CU update.
When the existing session is active, it doesn't allow the Cumulative Update from ePO to modify the SQL scripts as expected. So, you must make sure that all Agent Handler services need to stop before running the Cumulative Update on ePO.
Perform the steps below to stop the services on the Agent Hander system:
- Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and click OK.
- Right-click the following services and select Stop:
Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 Event Parser
Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator 5.10.0 Server
NOTE: If the Cumulative Update is 14 or earlier, the service name starts with McAfee instead of Trellix.
