To collect performance monitor data, for troubleshooting purposes:
- Start the perfmon console on the ePO server or handler:
- For 32-bit operating systems: Click Start, Run, type perfmon.msc, and click OK.
- For 64-bit operating systems: Click Start, Run, type mmc /32 perfmon.msc, and click OK.
- Make sure that the Performance Counter DLL Host and Performance Logs & Alerts services are started before you continue.
- Add a Performance Counter:
- Expand Data Collector Sets.
NOTE: Data Collector Sets is available for the following operating systems:
- Windows 7, Windows Vista
- Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, and Windows Server 2019.
- Right-click User Defined and click New, Data Collector Set.
- Type a name for the set. For example, AllEPOCounters.
- Select Create manually (Advanced) and click Next.
- Select Performance counter under Create data logs and click Next.
- Click Add.
- Expand ePolicy Orchestrator Server in the list of available counters, click Add to add all ePO Counters, and click OK.
- Click Next.
- Note the location where the logs are to be saved.
- Make any needed changes, and click Finish.
- Click the data collector set you defined. It has a name that corresponds with the name you provided in Step 2c.
- Right-click DataCollector01 in the right panel, and select Properties.
- Select Comma Separated under Log format, and click Apply, OK.
- Right-click the data collector set and click Start.
- Reproduce the issue or wait for the issue to occur.
- Note the location for the output file displayed in the Output column in the right pane.
- Right-click the data collector set and click Stop.
- Collect the output file from the data collector set, and all logs in the <ePO or handler installation directory>\DB\Logs folder.
- Collect a MER, only if it has not already been provided for this handler or ePO server.
