Verify that the extension exists and version numbers for the extension match in each of the following locations:
- <ePO_installation_folder>\Server\Conf\Catalina\localhost (see Step 1 for details).
- ePO_installation_folder>\Server\Extensions\Installed (see Step 2 for details).
- The OrionExtensions table in the ePO database (see Step 3 for details).
After you complete the following steps, you must be able to log on to the ePO console.
- If the .xml file is missing from <ePO_installation_folde>\Server\Conf\Catalina\localhost folder, create an .xml file:
- Create the missing .xml file:
- Click Start, Run, type explorer, and click OK.
- Navigate to <ePO_installation_folder>\Server\Conf\Catalina\localhost
- Copy any .xml file to your desktop. The .xml looks like the following:
<Context docBase="C:/Program Files (x86)/McAfee/ePolicy Orchestrator/Server/extensions/installed/console/2.0.2/webapp" privileged="true" antiResourceLocking="false" antiJARLocking="false" />
- Rename the .xml file (that was copied to the desktop with the line above) to match the extension name in Step 2 (for example: console.xml).
- Edit the .xml file, and change the following:
- The path to match the ePO installation path
- The extension location to match the extension location in Step 2
- The version number to match the version found in the OrionExtensions table from Step 3
Example: If ePO is installed to the D drive, the extension location is <ePO_installation_folde>\Server\Extensions\Installed\console, and the console version is 2.0.2, edit the .xml file as follows:
<Context docBase="D:/Program Files (x86)/McAfee/ePolicy Orchestrator/Server/extensions/installed/console/2.0.2/webapp" privileged="true" antiResourceLocking="false" antiJARLocking="false" />
- Click Start, Run, type explorer, and click OK.
- Navigate to <ePO_installation_folde>\Server\Conf\Catalina\localhost
- Copy the newly created .xml file into the <ePO_installation_folde>\Server\Conf\Catalina\localhost folder.
- Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and click OK.
- Right-click each of the following services and click Restart:
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 5.x Application Server
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 5.x Event Parser
McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 5.x Server
- If the file extension folder is missing from <ePO_installation_folde>\Server\extensions\Installed, do the following:
- Click Start, Run, type explorer, and click OK.
- Navigate to <ePO_Installation_Folder>\Server\Extensions\Installed
- If the extension folder is present, do the following:
- Double-click the extension folder.
- Verify whether the version number folder displayed is the same as that listed for that extension in both Steps 1 and 3. If the version doesn't match, restore the extension folder from a backup or copy it from another ePO server that's at the same version.
- If the extension folder isn't present, restore the extension folder from a backup or a copy from another ePO server. The ePO server must have the same version.
- To verify that the file extension exists in the OrionExtensions table, do the following:
- Open SQL Server Management Studio.
- Click Connect, on the Connect to Server dialog box.
- Expand Databases, <ePO_database>, Tables.
- Right-click dbo.OrionExtensions and click Edit Top 200 Rows.
- Verify whether the extension is listed under the Name column.
- If the extension is present, note the version number displayed under the Version column for this extension.
- If the extension isn't present, this article doesn't apply.
