Affected CPUs:

11th generation Intel®
AMD Zen 3 Ryzen

Problem

You see a system crash (blue screen) when you either upgrade or install DLP Endpoint 11.9.0 on one of the following CPUs:

AMD Zen 3 Ryzen
11th generation Intel

The crash dump file contains the string below:

Bugcheck Analysis

CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

PROCESS_NAME: svchost.exe

OS: Windows 10

You see the error message below when the system crash occurs:

Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you.

Cause

The system crashes with processors that use Control-flow Enforcement Technology (CET). The CET feature applies to both AMD Zen 3 Ryzen and 11th generation Intel CPUs.

You see this issue when Hardware-enforced Stack Protection technology is used on computers based on Windows 20H1 (December update) or later.

Solution

This issue is fixed in DLP Endpoint 11.9.0.
