Application Control installer enters a hung state during new installation or upgrade from a previous version

Problem

During an installation or upgrade, the installer copies the installation files to the C:\Windows\TEMP\{432DB9E4-6388-432F-9ADB-61E8782F4593} directory. After the files are copied, the installer tries to run an unzip operation, which causes the installation process to enter a hung state. The solidcore installer.log file records entries similar to the following:

Cause

The MPT folder isn't being overwritten.

Solution

If the installation or upgrade has entered a hung state, perform the following steps to resolve the issue:

End all setup.exe tasks that are running in Windows Task Manager.
End all MSIexec.exe tasks that are running in Windows Task Manager.
End all unzip.exe tasks that are running in Windows Task Manager.
Delete the folder C:\Windows\TEMP\{432DB9E4-6388-432F-9ADB-61E8782F4593}.
Push the installation or upgrade.
