Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Endpoint 11.6.700, 11.10.100 Microsoft Outlook Chromium Browsers Summary
This article provides information on the drag-and-drop functionality from Microsoft Outlook Email to Web Browsers, which is prevented by DLP.
Problem
Users are unable to drag and drop attachments from Microsoft Outlook email to Web Browsers.
Cause
This behavior is as designed. We've removed the drag-and-drop feature specifically from Microsoft Outlook to a Web Browser as this was leading to data loss scenarios. DLP can't get a handle of the event and has no visibility. This isn't related to browser protection.
Solution
Upgrade to DLP Endpoint 11.6.800 and DLP Extension 11.10.7.16 or later. This release provides you with an option to enable/disable drag and drop from Microsoft Outlook into supported Chromium browsers. NOTES:
Workaround 1
Save the attachment locally and then upload it to the Web Browser.
Workaround 2
Disable Web Protection.
