Data Loss Prevention Endpoint (DLP Endpoint) - all supported versions For supported environments, see KB68147 - Supported platforms for Data Loss Prevention Endpoint. ProblemDLP Endpoint isn't able to get the serial number from a specific USB drive. As a result, it's impossible to control the USB memory stick by the Removable Storage Device Rule (RSDR).
CauseThe operating system recognizes some intelligent USB memory sticks as two USB devices because there are two classes of USB devices:
The RSDR can't get its serial number from the USB memory stick because it doesn't have its serial number set in the USB Mass storage class.
SolutionThis behavior is as expected.
WorkaroundTo get the serial number, use the PnP device rule with a bus type definition.
