DLP Capture RAID array card

Problem

You observe the issue below on a DLP-7700 appliance when configured in the following way:

Hardware is configured to use Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) and Embedded Server RAID Technology 2 (ESRT2).
Intel BIOS is upgraded to version 2.1.13.
BIOS is configured in legacy mode.

The DLP Appliance loses the RAID volume and doesn’t boot.

Cause

ESRT2 isn't supported in legacy mode on a DLP-7700 appliance with the default configuration. The UEFI and ESRT2 default configuration prevents the RAID card from being visible in the BIOS.

Solution

Don't change the BIOS configuration to Legacy mode. Any attempt to change to Legacy mode results in an unstable ESRT2 configuration. An unstable ESRT2 configuration causes the RAID volumes to disappear during the boot stage.

Default configuration:

UEFI and ESRT2 software RAID.
Intel BIOS is upgraded to version 2.1.13.

NOTE: The DLP software can still detect and configure the Just a Bunch of Disks with the default configuration.
