Endpoint Security (ENS) Threat Prevention 10.x
Microsoft Windows 10

Problem

After ENS has been installed, there’s a further delay in logon up to a few minutes when using a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) session. A blank screen displays during the logon delay.

During the logon, a large amount of registry activity occurs on the affected system in ProcMon for this registry key: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UFH\SHC\13026.

Solution

The issue isn’t related to ENS. The issue is related to the above mentioned registry key and can be resolved by following the steps in this Microsoft article.

To work around this issue, configure a logon script to delete the following registry key during logon: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UFH\SHC.

You can also use Group Policy preferences to work around this issue.
