Check whether Virtualization Extensions are activated on the host system and the virtual machine. The host system is the server that runs
VMware ESX(i). The virtual machine is the virtual system on which SWG will be installed. For more information about how to activate Virtualization Extensions, see the server documentation or contact the server vendor.
Virtualization Extensions are usually activated through the BIOS:
- Turn on the system and enter the BIOS. To access the BIOS, see the on-screen instructions and server manual.
- Look for a Processor submenu. It might be labeled differently, depending on your BIOS and hardware. The settings might be hidden under items such as Chipset, Advanced CPU Configuration, or Northbridge.
- Enable Intel Virtualization Technology (also known as Intel VT) or AMD-V. The Virtualization Extensions might be labeled differently. For example, it might be labeled as Virtualization Extensions, Vanderpool, or another name. Verify the server manual for details.
