The following preconfigured queries, system actions, and server tasks are available to help with identification and remediation of duplicate MA GUIDs:
Preconfigured queries
- Systems with high sequence errors - Lists the systems with high sequence error counts. This problem indicates a duplicate agent GUID problem.
- Systems with no Recent Sequence errors - Lists the systems with sequence errors older than one week. These systems probably don't have duplicate agent GUIDs and can have their error count reset.
System actions
- Clear Agent GUID Sequence Error Count - Clears the Sequence Error count generated because of a duplicate GUID.
- Move GUID to Duplicate List and Delete System - Moves the GUID of the agent to the Duplicate list and deletes the system from the System Tree.
Server tasks
- Duplicate Agent GUID - Clear Error Count - Sequencing errors can occur occasionally for inconsequential reasons. This task deletes the count of sequencing errors in systems that haven't had any recent sequencing errors. This cleanup task doesn't remove any problematic GUIDs. The threshold value for defining recent activity is set in the query Systems with no Recent Sequence Errors. Use this task to identify computers with GUID problems and take corrective action.
- Duplicate Agent GUID - Remove systems with potentially duplicated GUIDs - This task deletes the systems that have a substantial number of sequencing errors and classifies the agent GUID as problematic. As a result, the agent is forced to generate a new GUID. The threshold number of sequencing errors is set in the query Systems with High Sequence Errors.
IMPORTANT:
- If you run the above server tasks, it removes the agents that result from the Systems with high sequence errors query. The query runs under the server tasks to get the number of agents to be removed from ePO.
- The agents are removed from the ePO console and ePO database (EPOLeafNode table).
- These agents ideally report back to the ePO server on the first successful agent-to-server communication interval (ASCI) based on the ASCI duration set.
- Make sure that the Sorting Criteria are set correctly to drop the agents back into the correct or original group in the ePO console. Doing so avoids any changes to the policy.
