Advanced Threat Defense exhibits high memory usage and might be unstable
Technical Articles ID:
KB91100
Last Modified: 2022-06-21 11:40:55 Etc/GMT Environment
Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) 4.6, 4.4
Problem
When you view the dashboard in the graphical web console, you see ATD recording high memory usage. Or, you see SNMP monitoring, SNMP traps, and syslog messages that report a high usage of memory. You might then experience that ATD crashes or stops responding because it runs out of resources. System Change
You enabled the SNMP feature.
Cause
A memory leak is found in an SNMP subagent on ATD. NOTE: ATD 4.4.x and 4.6.0 are affected by this issue. Earlier versions of ATD are not affected. Solution
This issue is resolved in ATD 4.6.2, which is available from the Product Downloads site. NOTE: You need a valid Grant Number for access. KB56057 - How to download product updates and documentation provides additional information about the Product Downloads site, and alternate locations for some products. Workaround
Disable SNMP and then enable it from the graphical web console. It restarts the affected process and frees the memory.
