ePolicy Orchestrator Update 15 value isn't updated in database

Environment

ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.10.x

Cumulative Update (CU)

Summary

After you update to CU 15, the version of the update installed still shows as Update 3.

Problem

After you apply CU 15 on the ePO server, the display value and database value in ePO doesn't change to CU 15; the old CU value remains the same.

Even when you reapply the CU, it doesn't fix the problem.

Cause

This issue is caused because the CU.repair.status value isn't updated. It must be updated to False.

Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.OrionServerPropertiesMT'. The duplicate key value is (CU.repair.status, 1).

You can check the output of the following query in the SQL database:

select * from OrionServerPropertiesMT

Example output

CU.repair.status

TRUE

Solution

Technical Support is investigating this issue. As a temporary measure, implement the following workaround.

Workaround

To modify the ID of CU.repair.status, perform the steps below:

Take a full backup of the ePO database server.
For help, see KB52126 - How to back up and restore the ePolicy Orchestrator database using SQL Server Management Studio.
Run the query below:

select * from OrionServerPropertiesMT
Find the ID of CU.repair.status.
Delete the ID.

Example:

If the ID is 80:

delete from OrionServerPropertiesMT where id = 80
After you delete the ID, reapply the CU and check the status.
