Auto provision fails when you use the default path (SELinux systems)

Environment

McAfee Agent (MA) 5.7.x

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.8
Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux)

Problem

The MA service does not start after you perform a McAfee Agent auto provision. The issue is seen when you use the default path (/opt/McAfee/agent/bin/).

You see the issue on RHET 7.8 with SELinux.

Errors are recorded in the MA logs:

[root@11TRHELS78 bin]# /opt/McAfee/agent/bin/maconfig -provision -managed -auto -dir /tmp/ -epo ##.##.##.##

Solution

This behavior is expected, according to the SELinux predefined rules. McAfee Agent does not have permissions to execute in its own /opt/McAfee/agent/bin folder.

The directory (/opt/McAfee/agent/bin/) has to be placed before maconfig.
