When Notify an email sender of policy violations is enabled, users receive an email notification if there is a policy violation with all details. If you do not want users to receive the details such as Keywords and Incident details, in the bounce notifications, perform the following configuration to remove them:
- Log on as admin to the shell command prompt.
- Run su – to become the root user.
- Run cp /config/wsxmlconf/Native/smtp-config.xml /tmp to take a backup.
- Edit /config/wsxmlconf/Native/smtp-config.xml.
- Locate: <ScmSettings AddIPReceivedHeader="1" AttachAdditionalDetailsToBounce="1" AttemptNextConnection="1" …
- Change AttachAdditionalDetailsToBounce="1" to AttachAdditionalDetailsToBounce="0".
- Run xmllint --format /config/wsxmlconf/Native/smtp-config.xml.
- If successful, it prints the contents of the XML file.
- If an error is printed, the file is corrupted. In such a case, restore the backup using the cp /tmp/smtp-config.xml /config/wsxmlconf/Native/ command and repeat the process.
- After the xmllint process completes successfully, run scm update-xmlconf to apply the changes.
