The solution is to either update or upgrade Adobe Acrobat Reader in your VM. The entire process consists of three sections:
- Delete the existing VM profile that has the issue.
- Update or upgrade Adobe Acrobat Reader in your original VM.
- Re-create the VM profile using the updated original image and use the new VM profile in your analyzer profile.
Section 1: Delete VM Profile
- Completely deselect the VM profile from analyzer profiles.
- Navigate to Policy, Analyzer Profile in the ATD manager.
- Identify analyzer profiles that use the affected VM profile.
- Repeat the following steps to all analyzer profiles using the affected VM profile.
- Select the analyzer profile that uses the affected VM profile.
- Click Edit.
- Take notes of the current configuration.
- In the VM Profiles drop-down list, deselect the affected VM profile.
- Deselect the Sandbox option.
- Click Save.
- Delete the VM profile.
- Navigate to Policy, VM Profile in the ATD GUI.
- Select the affected VM profile.
- Click Delete.
Section 2: Update/Upgrade Adobe Acrobat Reader
You have two options to perform this operation:
- In the Activation screen in the ATD manager.
- In your original VMDK or VHDX file using VMware (for VMDK file) or Hyper-V (for VHDX file).
NOTES:
- We recommend that you work on your original VMDK or VHDX file using VMware (for VMDK file) or Hyper-V (for VHDX file).
- Make sure that you first uninstall your current Adobe Acrobat Reader XI from your original virtual machine. Then, either install the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader XI or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

Option 1: Update or Upgrade Adobe Acrobat Reader using Activation screen
- Navigate to Policy, VM Profile.
- Click New.
- Select the .img file name of your affected VM.
- Click Activate button.
- In the Activation screen, uninstall your current Adobe Acrobat Reader XI.
- Obtain either the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader XI or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from the internet in the Activation screen, and then install it.
- Configure Acrobat Reader as per your operating system version.

- Shut down Windows in the Activation screen.
Option 2: Update or Upgrade Adobe Acrobat Reader using the original image with your hypervisor
- Open your original VMDK/VHDX VM file using your hypervisor.
- Uninstall your current Adobe Acrobat Reader XI.
- Obtain either the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader XI or Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from the internet in the Activation screen, and install it.
- Prepare your updated VM image for analysis by either using VM Provisioner Tool or manually configuring it as per your operating system version:

- Shut down Windows in your hypervisor.
- Import the virtual disk file to ATD:

- Convert the VMDK or VHDX file to an image file:

Section 3: Create VM Profile and Analyzer Profile
Create the VM profile using your updated VM image img file. For full steps, see the instructions in the Installation Guide.
Once you finish creating the updated VM profile, enable the updated VM profile in analyzer profile:
- Navigate to Policy, Analyzer Profile in the ATD GUI.
- Identify analyzer profiles that using the affected VM profile.
- Repeat the following steps to all analyzer profiles using the affected VM profile.
- Select the analyzer profile that uses the affected VM profile.
- Click Edit.
- Select Sandbox checkbox.
- In the VM Profiles drop-down list, select the updated VM profile.
- Configure your analyzer profile options as needed.
- Click Save.
