When you run the ePO PIA tool in preparation for an upgrade to a later version of ePO, it flags an issue with
open handles on ePO files and folders.
This check looks to see if there are open handles on one or more of the files or folders used by the ePO Installer. By design, during the ePO install process, the installer renames the existing ePO install folder for backup purposes. If an open handle exists on the install folder, subfolders, or any of the files these folders contain, the rename operation fails.
This check ignores any open handles held by any of the three ePO processes listed below, because these services are stopped by the installer:
- Apache.exe
- Tomcat.exe
- Eventparser.exe
