Skyhigh Web Gateway (SWG)
Problem
When you start or restart the SWG service, you see the following error message displayed in the SWG command line:
Starting McAfee Web Gateway System Configuration Daemon: [ OK ] Starting McAfee Web Gateway Anti-Malware Engine: [ OK ] Starting McAfee Web Gateway Core: ..............................[FAILED] Starting McAfee Web Gateway SaaS Connector: [ OK ] Starting McAfee Web Gateway Coordinator: [ OK ] Starting McAfee Web Gateway SNMP Daemon: [ OK ] Starting McAfee Web Gateway SNMP Trap Daemon: [ OK ] Starting McAfee Web Gateway User Interface: [ OK ] Cause
Insufficient CPU resources (power) are available to start the core process in time.
SolutionThe timeout for the SWG Core service start is exceeded and is thus reported as failed. But, the Core service continues to start in the background.
NOTE: Because appliance resources cause this issue, if it occurs repeatedly, you must upgrade the platform that SWG is running on.
