1. Open the DLP Policy Manager in ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO).
2. Select the Definitions tab and click Application Template.
3. Click Actions, New.
4. Name the new definition and leave the Process Strategy as Editor.
5. Change the Applies To option to Mac OS X Applications.
6. Select Executable File Name from the Available Properties on the left.
7. Add backupd to the Value field and leave the Comparison as Equals.
8. Save your definition.

Add your definition as an exception to your Removable Storage Protection rule:

1. Open the Removable Storage Protection rule that's assigned to your OS X system.
2. Click the Exceptions tab.
3. Click Actions, Add Rule Exception.
4. Name the new Rule Exception.
5. Change the State to Enabled.
6. Change the Classification to is Any Data.
7. Change the Application to is one of Application.
8. Click the Ellipses (...) button and select the Application Definition that you created.
9. Click Save and Apply your policy.
