Endpoint Security Access Protection blocks DAT extraction from a network share
Technical Articles ID:
KB87727
Last Modified: 2023-02-07 18:45:07 Etc/GMT Environment
Endpoint Security (ENS) Threat Prevention 10.x
Problem
With ENS, you can't extract Threat Prevention DAT file content from a network share.
Cause
ENS can't establish trust on the process started from a network share because ENS is not notified if the file changes on a network share. This restriction is by design to address a potential security vulnerability.
Solution
Copy the Threat Prevention DAT file content to the local system and extract the update locally.
