Summary

This article describes the agent policy setting Accept connections only from the ePO server.

This setting prevents connections to an agent, that does not originate from an Agent Handler listed in the agent's assigned list.

By default ePO is the primary Agent Handler for an agent. Other Agent Handlers are automatically added to the default Agent Handler assignment list.

IMPORTANT: If an Agent Handler assignment does not include all registered Agent Handlers, the agent does not accept connections from any Agent Handlers that have been excluded.

Solution 1

To enable or disable the Accept connections only from the ePO server setting:

Log on to the ePO console.
Click Menu, Policy, Policy Catalog.
Select McAfee Agent from the Product drop-down list.
Select General from the Category drop-down list.
Click the policy that you want to change.
Click the General tab.
Select or deselect the Accept connections only from the ePO server option.
Click Save.
Send an agent wake-up call to the client.

Solution 2

To add or remove Agent Handlers, that the agent can communicate with:

Log on to the ePO console.
Click Menu, Configuration, Agent Handlers.
Add or edit Agent Handler assignments as needed.
1. Click New assignment. Creates an Agent Handler assignment or click an existing assignment to edit it.
2. Click Edit Priority. Prioritizes Agent Handler assignments.
3. Save the Agent Handler assignment changes.
Send an agent wake-up call to the client.
