Environment

DAT Reputation
ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x

Problem

The DAT Reputation log records the following error and none of the DAT Reputation functionality works:

Current Process Not trusted

There is no plug-in for MCDATREP1000 under ePolicy Orchestrator Application Plugins.

Cause

The operating system has not been upgraded to the latest update, and certificate stores are not up to date. The result is that self-validation for DAT Reputation fails.

Solution

Use the following steps to resolve this issue:

Open the Windows Control Panel.
Click Performance and Maintenance.
Click System.
Click the Automatic Updates tab.
Click the Windows Update website link.
On the Windows Update site, click Express and install the latest updates.
After the update completes, start Internet Explorer.
Go to Tools, Internet Options, Content tab.
Click Certificates.
Click the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
Confirm that the Verisign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G3 certificate exists.

Workaround

For existing systems, perform one of the following options:

Disable DAT Reputation and DAT Reputation Endpoint Safety Pulse through ePolicy Orchestrator policy.
Disable DAT Reputation and DAT Reputation Endpoint Safety Pulse using standalone SuperDAT packages.
