You configure a DLP Endpoint Removable Storage Protection Rule to enforce a shared CD/DVD-ROM drive to read-only. As a result, a remote user can't access the CD/DVD-ROM drive. NOTE: This issue does not affect a local user who accesses the computer locally. CauseThis issue is related to Microsoft Access Control List (ACL) implementation.
When CD/DVD-Drive ACL is set to read-only, a remote user (without Local Administrator rights) is unable to access the shared drive. Solution
To allow a remote user to access the shared CD/DVD drive, set Local Administrator rights. Example scenario:
