Update fails from an ePO Distributed Repository that is updated from another ePO server

Environment

Trellix Agent (MA) 5.x
Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.x

Problem

Agents fail to update from Distributed Repositories (UNC or HTTP).

The following error displays while running an update task on a client computer:

Package catalog.z is corrupt

System Change

You created a UNC or HTTP Distributed Repository on ePO Server A, and mapped to software folder on ePO server B (.....\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\DB\Software).

You assigned a Distributed Repository to computers managed by ePO server A.

Cause

ePO servers have a unique Local Master Repository key to sign packages when they are added to the Master Repository.

Because agents managed by ePO server A do not have the Master Repository Public key for ePO server B, they fail to update.

Solution

Import the Local Master Repository key from ePO server B into ePO server A:

Export the Local Master Repository key from ePO server B.

On ePO server B:
1. Click, Menu, Configuration, Server Settings.
2. Click Security Keys, Edit.
3. Click Export Public Key (2048/1024 bits), and then click OK.
4. Click Save as, and then select a location.
Import the Local Master Repository key from ePO server B into ePO server A.

On ePO server A:
1. Click Menu, Configuration, Server Settings.
2. Click Security Keys, Edit.
3. Click Import.
4. Click Browse, double-click the exported key from ePO server B in step 1, and then click Next.
5. Click Save.
To update this Public key, send a wake-up call to agents managed by ePO server A.
