To check in and deploy Stinger through ePO:
- Download the appropriate Stinger package from the Trellix Stinger site.
- Log on to the ePO console.
- Check in the Stinger package:
- Click Menu.
- Click Software, Master Repository.
- Click Check in Package.
- Select Choose File, and browse to the Stinger ZIP file you downloaded.
- Click Next.
- Click Save.
- To deploy the Stinger package, create a task:
- Click System Tree.
- Click Assigned Client Tasks.
- Click Actions, then select New Client Task assignment from the drop-down list.
- Under Task Name, click Create New Task.
- Provide a name for the task, for example 'Stinger 32-bit package deployment Build 186', then click Save.
- Under Type, select Product Deployment.
- Under Tags, select one of the following:
- Send this task to all computers
Or
- Send this task to only computers which have the following criteria.
- In Target platforms, select Windows.
- In Products and components, take the following actions:
- Select the Stinger product needed. For example, 'Stingerx86 [Build] ex: Stinger x86 11.0.0.186.
NOTE: The Stinger package uses the naming convention:
32-bit package: Stinger x86 X.X.X.X
64-bit package: Stinger x64 X.X.X.X
(where X.X.X.X is the build number)
- Click Install from the Action drop-down list.
- Select Language Neutral from the language drop-down list.
- Select Current from the Branch drop-down list.
- In the Command-line field, type:
--reportpath=C:\
NOTES:
- The reportpath switch is mandatory. Add any other command line switches as advised by Technical Support.
- A folder with the name of the System is created. The results HTML file is created in this folder. The file created in this folder has the format: Stinger_ddmmyyy_######.html.
Example: Stinger_05042013_162445.html
- Click Next.
- Under the Schedule section, take the following actions:
- Set the Schedule status to Enabled.
- Under Schedule type, select the schedule option needed. For example, run immediately.
- Click Next and Save the changes.
NOTE: The user can verify that the Stinger task has run successfully, by verifying the contents of the folder specified in the
reportpath command. The Stinger results HTML file is present, if Stinger has run successfully.
