The Endpoint Encryption Hardware Compatibility Tool gathers data about the Opal drives,
Standard and NVMe, and performs some tests on the drive's functionality. Use the tool to test a single Opal drive to verify that it's compatible before you use the Opal features in DE 7.1 and later releases.
IMPORTANT: NVMe is only supported with DE 7.2.5 and later.
WARNING: If the drive fails to respond to the various Opal commands, it might become permanently unusable. In the worst-case scenario, it might destroy all data on the drive and you must discard your disk. You can restore some drives that end up in this state to their default factory state and they're usable again. But, all data contained on the Opal drive is lost and unrecoverable. This capability is solely dependent on the Opal drive and manufacturer.
IMPORTANT: We're not responsible for any data loss or hardware damaged or made unusable by these tests. This tool is provided 'as is' with no warranty, and its operation is specifically excluded from any warranties or other agreements you might have with us.
