SummaryYou can use SNMP to retrieve statistics from a Sensor.
For example, to obtain the total count of bytes sent or received by an interface, the following OIDs can be used with the
Append the above OIDs with the slot index (always 2) followed by the port index.
The port index differs among Sensor models. This article provides a list of port indexes for the M-series. It also states the formula used for NS-series Sensors.
NOTE: For M-series, the slot index for all monitoring ports is 2.
The portIndex is 1 - N, where N is the highest port number on the model. Example N = 20 for M-2750. For NS-series:
QSFP ports on G0 use slot index = 2 and 1-based port index from 1–2
Pluggable module in G1 uses slot index = 3 and 1-based port index within the pluggable module
Pluggable module in G2 uses slot index = 4 and 1-based port index within the pluggable module
RJ45 ports on G3 use slot index = 5 and 1-based port index from 1–8
QSFP ports on G0 use slot index = 2 and 1-based port index from 1–2
Pluggable module in G1 uses slot index = 3 and 1-based port index within the pluggable module
Pluggable module in G2 uses slot index = 4 and 1-based port index within the pluggable module
RJ45 ports on G3 use slot index = 5 and 1-based port index from 1–8
QSFP ports on G4 use slot index = 6 and 1-based port index from 1–2
