Policy Auditor (PA) 6.x

Microsoft SQL Server

Problem

In the ePO server task log, the content check-in process is listed as Failed. No checks, or a limited number of checks, appear in the ePO console under System, Checks.
The Orion.log file on the ePO server contains the following error message:

ERROR [pool-4-thread-9] check.DefinitionSvc - java.sql.SQLException: Failed to load msxmlsql.dll. java.sql.SQLException: Failed to load msxmlsql.dll.

Cause

Microsoft SQL files have been deleted from the SQL Server. The MSXMLSQL.DLL and MSXMLSQL.RLL files have been removed when patching or upgrading the SQL Server.

Solution

Replace the missing files and restart the SQL Server service:

To replace the missing MSXMLSQL.DLL and MSXMLSQL.RLL files, follow the instructions as described by Microsoft.
Restart the ePO services:
1. Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and click OK.
2. Right-click the following services and select Restart:
  
  McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator x.x.x Application Server
  McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator x.x.x Server
  McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator x.x.x Event Parser
Open the ePO console, select the Repository tab, and then delete the Audit Engine Content.

NOTE: Allow enough time for the ePO server services and the SQL services to start before you run the pull task.
Run a Pull Now task.
Verify that the content check-in process task shows completed in the ePO server task log results.
