ProblemThe ePO installation fails without producing any log information. This issue occurs when a Windows account that isn’t also a member of the local administrators group on the ePO server is used to connect to SQL.
In the installation wizard, the option for the Database Port is always grayed out and can’t be edited. The error below is displayed on the console during installation, or upgrade:
CauseThe logged on Windows account on the ePO server isn’t a part of the local Administrators group. It’s a Microsoft requirement to ensure proper authentication to SQL when NT authentication is used.
NOTE: If you use SQL Authentication to connect to the SQL Server the above isn’t required. SolutionThe logged on account must be added in the local Administrators group when installing ePO to a server.
On the server, do the following to verify:
