Problem
A new installation of ePO fails with an error in the following logs. The [delete] Deleting directory C:\PROGRA~2\McAfee\EPOLIC~1\Apache2 BUILD FAILED C:\Program Files (x86)\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\Installer\epo\build.xml:107: C: \PROGRA~2\McAfee\EPOLIC~1\apache_backup does not exist. Total time: 2 seconds The Extension=file:///C:/PROGRA~2/McAfee/EPOLIC~1/INSTAL~1/ePO/EXTENS~2/epoST.zip java.io.IOException: Error 0 : com.mcafee.orion.core.cmd.ErrorCodeCommandException: No such command: epo.command.postInstallSQLConfig The ErrorString=FAILURE: In LaunchApplication while trying to run the following program: ActionName=Prod_InstallEpoCore Task=Checking in epoST "C:\Users\H11010~1.MCA\AppData\Local\Temp\McAfeeLogs\EPO510-Troubleshoot\OutputFiles\epoST.bat" Return code: 1 CauseThe 8.3 naming convention isn't enabled on the server.
Solution

The 8.3 naming convention must be enabled on the server when extended characters exist in the installation paths. NOTE: Installation to a path that fails before the 8.3 naming was enabled continues to fail to that same path. Point the installation to a new directory path because 8.3 naming support is added to that path by default when enabled. To enable the 8.3 naming convention:
