- La información siguiente va dirigida a administradores de sistemas. Las modificaciones del Registro son irreversibles y podrían provocar un fallo del sistema si se realizan de modo incorrecto.

- No ejecute ningún archivo REG si no está seguro de que sea un archivo de importación del Registro auténtico.
La 8.3 Convención de nomenclatura debe estar activada en el servidor cuando existan caracteres extendidos en las rutas de instalación.
NOTA: La instalación en una ruta que fallaba antes 8.3 de que se activara la asignación de nombres, sigue produciéndose un error en esa misma ruta. Haga que la instalación se dirija a una nueva ruta de directorio porque 8.3 la compatibilidad con nombres se agrega a esa ruta de forma predeterminada cuando se activa.
Para activar la Convención de 8.3 nomenclatura:
- Haga clic en Inicio, Ejecutar, escriba regedit y, a continuación, haga clic en Aceptar.
- Desplácese hasta la siguiente clave de registro y selecciónela:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem
- En el panel derecho, haga clic NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation con el botón derecho del ratón y seleccione propiedades.
- Modifique los datos del valor de 1 a 0.
NOTA: En Windows Server 2008 el valor predeterminado es 2 y debe cambiarlo a 0.
- Reinicie el equipo.
- Instale ePO en un directorio nuevo.
