Uninstall ENS from client computers using Windows-automated removal steps:
- Open the Control Panel, Programs and Features or Apps & features (depending on your version of Windows).
- If any of the following ENS products are present, right-click the product and select Uninstall:
- Firewall
- Platform
- Threat Prevention
- Web Control
The default password is mcafee. If you've changed the password and have forgotten the new password, contact Technical Support for instructions to remove the password. Make sure that you complete the following items before contacting Technical Support:
- Collect Minimum Escalation Requirement (MER) data using the MER tool.
- Obtain administrator rights and physical access to the affected system.
- Wait up to 30 minutes for background architecture files to be removed.
- Remove McAfee Agent (MA) from Programs and Features or Apps & features. A Windows error message pops up if MA can't be removed yet.
NOTE: Don't try to manually remove MA or products from the registry or by deleting files and folders.
- Close the Programs and Features or Apps & features window.
