ENS 10.7.x supported Microsoft Windows client operating systems

The following table indicates the client operating systems and minimum Service Pack levels that ENS supports. The minimum supported Service Pack levels align with the minimum Service Pack levels supported by Microsoft. When Microsoft ends support for a Service Pack, ENS support for that Service Pack also ends, and you must upgrade to a supported Service Pack. For information about the lifecycle for Windows operating systems and Service Packs, see Windows Lifecycle FAQ.

NOTE: Where applicable, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are implied. Exceptions are noted explicitly.

ENS 10.6.1 or 10.7.0 April 2021 Update (and later) support Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD). For more information, see KB94364 - Windows Virtual Desktop compatibility with our products.

When Microsoft ends support for a Service Pack, ENS support for that Service Pack also ends, and you must upgrade to a supported Service Pack. Dell EMC CAVA Support

ENS Threat Prevention has support for CAVA with Dell EMC platforms. But, the ATP module isn't supported within CAVA setups. For more information, see KB88973 - Install Endpoint Security with support for CAVA.

NOTES:

Because of the high frequency with which Chrome and Firefox browsers are released, new browser versions might break ENS Web Control support for Chrome or Firefox. The next ENS update release will target adding back support for the browser.
ENS Web Control isn't 64-bit and doesn't support native 64-bit browsers, but it supports 64-bit browsers in 32-bit mode.
Enhanced Protected Mode in Internet Explorer isn't supported.

Hardware requirements

System hardware requirements are subject to change, and are influenced by updates, hotfixes, and DAT files that are applied.

ENS 10.6.1 and 10.7.0 April 2021 Update and later support Hardware-enforced Stack Protection (HSP). HSP allows applications to use the local CPU hardware to protect their code while running inside the CPU memory. For more information about HSP, see the following Microsoft articles:

NOTES:
- HSP only works on Intel chipsets with Intel Control-flow Enforcement Technology (Intel CET). For more information, see the following Intel article: Intel CET Answers Call to Protect Against Common Malware Threats.
- ENS September 2023 Update and later support AMD Zen 5 Core HSP.

CPU or RAM - The CPU requirement is a minimum of a Single Core. We recommend a Dual Core Intel Pentium processor or compatible architecture. The following specifications are subject to change. The processor specifications are a recommended guideline, but aren't a hard requirement. Only x86 and AMD64 (x64) CPU architectures are supported. ENS doesn't support ARM processors.

ENS supports Microsoft Resilient File System (ReFS).¹

¹ENS doesn't support the case-sensitivity feature of ReFS. Enabling this feature causes issues with ENS. We don't provide any recommendations in general on how to configure file systems. For more information, see this Microsoft article.
