For both vulnerabilities, Skyhigh SWG is designed to be deployed inside a customer's network with web traffic directed to it for scanning. The administrator's User Interface is on a separate port and isn't intended to be accessible directly from the internet. Use firewall and network segmentation options to expose the SWG UI port 4712 only on a dedicated network segment that is only available to access for trusted administrators; block access to this port for all other users. This vulnerability relies on the attacker having access to the administrator's User Interface, with them not requiring valid login credentials.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How do I know if my product is vulnerable or not?
Use the following instructions for SWG:
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) is the result of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council's effort to standardize a system of assessing the criticality of a vulnerability. This system offers an unbiased criticality score between 0 and 10 that customers can use to determine how critical a vulnerability is and plan accordingly. For more information, visit the CVSS website.
When calculating CVSS scores, we adopt a philosophy that fosters consistency and repeatability. Our guiding principle for CVSS scoring is to score the exploit under consideration by itself. We consider only the immediate and direct impact of the exploit under consideration. We don't factor into a score any potential follow-on exploits that might be made possible by the successful exploitation of the issue being scored.
What are the CVSS scoring metrics?
CVE-2022-2310: SWG Authentication Bypass vulnerability
NOTE: This CVSS version 3.1 vector is used to generate this score.
Where can I find a list of all Security Bulletins?
All Security Bulletins are published on our Knowledge Center. Security Bulletins are retired (removed) once a product is both End of Sale and End of Support (End of Life).
How do I report a product vulnerability to you?
If you have information about a security issue or vulnerability with a product, follow the instructions provided in KB95563 - Report a vulnerability.
How do you respond to this and any other reported security flaws?
Our key priority is the security of our customers. If a vulnerability is found within any of our software or services, we work closely with the relevant security software development team to ensure the rapid and effective development of a fix and communication plan.
We only publish Security Bulletins if they include something actionable such as a workaround, mitigation, version update, or hotfix. Otherwise, we would simply be informing the hacker community that our products are a target, putting our customers at greater risk. For products that are updated automatically, a non-actionable Security Bulletin might be published to acknowledge the discoverer.

- CVE-2022-2310
An authentication bypass vulnerability in Skyhigh SWG in main releases 10.x prior to 10.2.12, 8.x prior to 8.2.28, and controlled release 11.x prior to 11.2.1 allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication into the administration User Interface. This is possible because of SWG incorrectly whitelisting authentication bypass methods and using a weak crypto password. This can lead to the attacker logging into the SWG admin interface, without valid credentials, as the super user with complete control over the SWG.
NVD CVE-2022-2310
MITRE CVE-2022-2310 - CVE-2022-23914
Webswing before 22.1.3 allows X-Forwarded-For header injection. The client IP address is associated with a variable in the configuration page. The {clientIp} variable can be used as an application startup argument. The X-Forwarded-For header can be manipulated by a client to store an arbitrary value that is used to replace the clientIp variable (without sanitization). A client can thus inject multiple arguments into the session startup. Systems that do not use the clientIP variable in the configuration are not vulnerable. The vulnerability is fixed in these versions: 20.1.16, 20.2.19, 21.1.8, 21.2.12, and 22.1.3.
The SWG uses this library which has been updated to the latest version.
