How were the extensions released earlier?
If any fixes were made to the DLP Endpoint Extension for Chromium Browsers, in DLP Endpoint versions prior to 11.10.x, the Chromium browser extensions were released in the Chrome store as part of the DLP Endpoint Product release and had unique Extension IDs compared to other DLP Endpoint product releases.
What has changed?
Going forward, from DLP 11.10.0.29 onward, the DLP Endpoint Extension for Chromium Browsers will be released in the Chrome store as Updates to the existing extension ID, whenever there's an urgent fix needed on the Chromium extension. Each update to an existing DLP Endpoint Extension ID will have an incremental version number. Whenever there's a new extension update, this KB article will be updated with the version number details.
What action is required by customers whose client machines have access to the Chrome store?
No action is needed. The DLP Endpoint Extension for Chromium Browsers auto-updates itself whenever a newer version of the extension update is available in the Chrome store.
