Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) 4.0
Summary
The EDR 4.0.0 release is applicable only to endpoints with the Windows 64-bit operating system. It isn't applicable to endpoints with macOS and Linux operating systems. Installing the EDR 4.0 product extensions replaces the EDR client package that's used to deploy to the managed clients.
Problem
The EDR Agent Deployment task can deploy the EDR 4.0 client installer package to Windows systems. But, no deployment is available for Linux or macOS operating systems.
Cause
The March 15, 2022 release of EDR 4.0 contains only the Windows client installer package; it doesn't currently apply to Linux or macOS operating systems. The EDR client installer package is bundled with the EDR Client Extension package. When the EDR Client Extension package is installed, the client packages in the ePO Master Repository are overwritten. This process removes the previous EDR 3.x client packages, which are still applicable to Linux and macOS. Solution
EDR Client Package 4.0.0.1408 now contains Windows installer 4.0.0.1408, Linux installer 3.5.2.1104, and macOS installer 3.5.2.1104. Our product software, upgrades, maintenance releases, and documentation are available on the Product Downloads site.
