SIEM Enterprise Security Manager (ESM) 11.x

Field match alarms fail to trigger on ESMs that are hosted on Hyper V or Azure VM.

You open a CLI session and run the command:

Executing PATH='' /usr/local/bin/actver

You see the output:

/bin/sh: dmidecode: No such file or directory
NotOk XXXX:XXXX

/bin/sh: dmidecode: No such file or directory
NotOk XXXX:XXXX

The absolute path of two calls for dmidecode isn’t set.

The expected outcome of the PATH='' /usr/local/bin/actver command is:

McAfee-ETM-VM8 ~ # PATH='' /usr/local/bin/actver
Ok 51C3:D350
McAfee-ETM-VM8 ~ # cat /etc/NitroGuard/ipsid
51C3:D350

Upgrade to ESM 11.5.5 or later.
