ePolicy Orchestrator performance issue when executing a Solidcore query

Environment

Application and Change Control (ACC) 8.0.0–8.3.4

Problem

You see an ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) performance issue when you run a Solidcore query. The query runs during a Solidcore Pull Inventory task.

Cause

The query uses up a large amount of memory, which causes the performance issue.

Solidcore Pull Inventory query:

update [SCOR_INV_SYSTEM_PROPERTIES]
set AGENTGUID= @P0
, INVENTORY_FETCH_TIME= @P1
, INVENTORY_FETCH_STATUS= @P2
, JVM_MEMORY_REQUIRED= @P3
where ([SCOR_INV_SYSTEM_PROPERTIES].AGENTGUID like @P0 )

Solution

This issue is resolved in the ACC 8.3.5 Extension.

Workaround

Run the SQL queries below to truncate three tables:

IMPORTANT: After the tables are truncated, the entire inventory data is deleted, regardless of the retention period.

Stop the ePO services:
1. Press Windows+R.
2. Type services.msc in the field and press Enter.
3. Right-click each of the ePO services below and select Stop:
  
  ePolicy Orchestrator 5.#.# Application Server
  ePolicy Orchestrator 5.#.# Event Parser
  ePolicy Orchestrator 5.#.# Server
Run the queries below sequentially to reduce the size of the tables:

truncate table SCOR_STAGING_HOST_BINARY_ASSOC

truncate table SCOR_STAGING_HOST_BINARY_ASSOC_MAPPING

truncate table SCOR_HOST_BINARY_ASSOC

delete from SCOR_INV_SYSTEM_PROPERTIES
Start the ePO services:
1. Press Windows+R.
2. Type services.msc in the field and press Enter.
3. Right-click each of the ePO services below, and click Start:
  
  ePolicy Orchestrator 5.#.# Application Server
  ePolicy Orchestrator 5.#.# Event Parser
  ePolicy Orchestrator 5.#.# Server
Close the services window.

NOTES:

The above actions truncate three tables:
- SCOR_STAGING_HOST_BINARY_ASSOC
- SCOR_HOST_BINARY_ASSOC
- SCOR_STAGING_HOST_BINARY_ASSOC_MAPPING (This table contains a foreign key referenced in other tables.)
The data from the tables below is only temporarily deleted. The data is re-created after a Pull Inventory task:
- SCOR_INV_BINARIES
- SCOR_INV_APPS, SCOR_BINARY_PATHS
