SummaryIn several BlackMatter ransomware cases, the threat actor launched a specially developed data exfiltration tool called ExMatter. This tool is designed to scan and steal specific file types from a number of selected locations. Exfiltration often happens prior to the deployment of ransomware in the victims' network. Our Threat Research team gathers and analyzes information from multiple open and closed sources before disseminating intelligence reports.
