SummaryDECAF ransomware is written in the Go programming language and was discovered in September 2021. The malware uses a different symmetric encryption key to encrypt each file, and then deletes the original file using the local WMI's ROOT\\CIMV2 namespace. The ransomware avoids certain files and directories including Our Threat Research team gathers and analyzes information from multiple open and closed sources before disseminating intelligence reports.
