Configure Endpoint Security and MOVE to co-exist on the same system

Problem

Installing ENS 10.7.0 April 2021 Update and earlier on a system with MOVE fails and the installer exits with the following:

[BootstrapperMain] Conflicting product installed : Management for Optimized Virtual Environments Multiplatform Endpoint
[BootstrapperMain] Conflicting product installed on the system. Aborting Installation..
[BootstrapperMain] Common failed during install or Upgrade!!!

Installing ENS 10.7.0 June 2021 Update and later on a system with MOVE uninstalls MOVE with the following:

Solution

The uninstallation of MOVE from ENS is as designed.

But, you can configure ENS 10.7.0 June 2021 Update (and later) and MOVE to co-exist on the same system for Exploit Prevention. You can configure them to co-exist using the install command-line switch /keepMOVE. Use of this switch tells the ENS installer to not uninstall MOVE. Security administrators can use the added protection that ENS Exploit Prevention and Expert Rules provide.

Before using the switch to install ENS on a system with MOVE, make sure that on-access scan (OAS) and on-demand scan (ODS) are fully disabled within the ENS policy. The OAS and ODS must be disabled to avoid conflict between the scanners. See the "Installation command line interface" section of the ENS 10.7 Installation Guide for more details and instructions.
