Automatic Update doesn't download October detection package from update site

Environment

Advanced Threat Defense (ATD)
Trellix Intelligent Sandbox (TIS)

Problem

When you enable Automatic Update for ATD or TIS content updates in the ATD or TIS GUI at Manage, Image & Software, Content Update, you don't see the October detection package in the GUI at Manage, Image & Software, Content Update, Detection Pkg.

Cause

ATD or TIS doesn't download the October detection package from the update repository site because of an issue on the update server that hosts the October detection package.

Solution

As of October 18, 2021, the issue with the update server is addressed and the automatic updater will eventually download the update from the server.

Workaround

Manually download the October detection package, and then manually upload it to ATD or TIS.

How to download the October detection package from the Product Downloads site:

Go to the Product Downloads site and click Product Downloads.
Enter a valid Grant Number, and your registered email address.
Under Find Products, locate Advanced Threat Defense Software with your ATD or TIS version. You might need to deselect the Show only latest version option if you're still using an old ATD or TIS version.
Locate the October 2021 detection package, and click the link to download it.

How to manually upload the detection package:

Open the ATD or TIS GUI.
Log on as administrator.
Go to Manage, Image & Software, Content Update.
Click Browse for the Upload File field.
Locate the October detection package RPM file.
Click Upload.
Click Yes in the dialog window Are you sure you want to install the Detection Software?
