Summary
Multiple sectors in Bangladesh were targeted with new and improved variants of LodaRAT for Windows. The actor behind the malicious software also released a version of the remote access trojan targeted at Android devices. The Windows version of the RAT exploited a remote code execution vulnerability in Microsoft Office classified under CVE-2017-11882 and added new commands to extend its capabilities. The Android samples can record audio, take screenshots, and exfiltrate call logs, contacts, and SMS messages.

Minimum set of Manual Rules to improve protection to block this campaign
IMPORTANT: Always follow best practices when you enable new rules and signatures.
When you implement new rules or signatures, always set them to Report mode first and check the alerts generated. Resolve any issues that arise and then set the rules to Block. This step mitigates against triggering false positives and allows you to refine your configuration.
