Environment

Trellix Intrusion Prevention System 10.1.7.39

Problem

You see frequent and abrupt shutdowns of the Manager Database.

You also see the following error in the database error log file (<hostname>.err log file) in the MariaDB/data directory.

[ERROR] [FATAL] InnoDB: Semaphore wait has lasted > 600 seconds. We intentionally crash the server because it appears to be hung.

NOTE: The error is also visible in the Event log.

The server version is mentioned in the same log file: Server version: 10.3.27-MariaDB-log

Cause

There's an issue in MariaDB version 10.3.27.

Solution

Upgrade to 10.1.7.39 or later. These versions contain MariaDB version 10.3.28.

NOTE: Any scheduled maintenance activities that fail before the Manager upgrade are triggered automatically post upgrade, according to the configured option in the Manager.

If the issue persists, restart the Manager and Database services.
