Deadlocks recorded in EPO_ComputerPropsStaging table

Environment

ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 5.10 Update 1–9

Problem

You observe that there are deadlocks recorded in EPOComputerPropsStaging table.

Cause

The EPOComputerPropsStaging is a temporary table in ePO database. The ePO server and Agent Handler receive the agent system properties data and send it to this table.
Once processed by EPO_ComputerPropsStagingFlush, the data moves from the EPOComputerPropsStaging table.to the EPOComputerProperties table, where the processed data is then stored.

The deadlocks can occur because of backlog of records to process or long execution times in the EPOComputerPropsStaging table.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ePO 5.10.0 Update 10, which is available from either the Software Catalog or the Product Downloads site.

ePO 5.10 Update 10 optimizes the stored procedure for EPO_ComputerPropsStagingFlush, to improve the performance and reduce contention.
