SummaryOn December 2020, multiple 0-day vulnerabilities were exploited to compromise Accellion's File Transfer Appliance. Once compromised the threat actors deployed a webshell, known as DEWMODE, which the threat actors used to exfiltrate data. Although the identity of the threat actor is not yet definitive, the actor as well as the incident are being tracked as UNC2546 by Mandiant. As further evidence is revealed, we will update the event and the threat actor(s) identified in the breach of Accellion's AFT and disseminate information that is deemed appropriate.
