FRP 5.4.0 introduces the "Enforce Encryption" policy for Mac. When the
Enforce Encryption policy is enabled and a removable media is inserted into the Mac system, it asks the user to encrypt the removable media. If the user disagrees, the removable media is in the read-only mode. For more information, see the FRP
Product Guide and
Interface Reference Guide.
FMPD: You can locate
fmpd at
/usr/local/McAfee/fmp/bin/fmpd.
How does Enforce Encryption policy works:
- When you perform a fresh installation of FRP on a Mac client, the Enforce Encryption policy needs full disk access to the fmpd process.
- A pop-up message is displayed and requests full disk access to fmpd when a USB drive is inserted for the first time.

- Follow the instructions given in the notification message and grant the permission.
- After the permission is granted, enforce the policy from the McAfee Agent status monitor.
- Remove and reinsert the USB. The following message is displayed:

NOTE: If the permission isn't granted, FRP might not work properly and can't enforce the encryption.
