You can remove SME from the Control Panel, Programs and Features, Uninstall a program console. In this method, the quarantine database is retained by default.

1. Remove the antispam module.
2. Remove SME.
   1. Remove SME from the Control Panel:
      1. Go to the Control Panel, Programs and Features, Uninstall a program console. In this method, the quarantine database is retained by default. To delete the quarantine database, use step 3.
   2. Remove SME from ePO: 
      1. In this method, the program data registry plug-in entry and shared dll's will remain on the server. You can use step 3 to delete the same.
   3. Remove SME using the installation file:
      1. In the folder containing the installation files, double-click setup_x64.exe.
      2. On the Welcome screen, click Next.
      3. On the Program Maintenance screen, select Remove, and click Next.
      4. The Preserve Settings screen appears. 
      5. On the Preserve Settings screen, select Preserve quarantine database to retain the quarantine database, and click Next.
      6. The Remove the program screen appears.
      7. On the Remove the program screen, click Remove to uninstall SME from your Exchange server.
      8. The InstallShield wizard Completed screen appears.
      9. Click Finish.
3. Remove the unwanted files: Some dependent files might still exist on the server. Those files must be manually removed after you reboot the server.
   1. DB folder at: programdata\mcafee\msme\data\msmedata
   2. Dll Files at: <installation fodler>\mcafee\msme\bin\e2007
   3. Registry key (Regkey) for plug-in SME 8.6:
      1. Open Registry and navigate to KHLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Network Associates\ePolicy Orchestrator\Application Plugin.
      2. Take a backup and remove the keys with SME (Example: MSME_8600).
