Environment

Advanced Threat Defense (ATD) and Intelligent Sandbox (IS) ATD-3000, ATD-3100, ATD-6000, ATD-6100 appliances

Problem

Remote Management Module (RMM) interface on ATD or IS hardware appliance models uses a weak SSL/TLS cipher and version.

Solution 1

ATD-3100/ATD-6100
This issue is resolved with the latest BIOS or firmware package, which is available from the Product Downloads site.
Installation instructions are included with the package archive file. See the README file in the package.

Solution 2

ATD-3000/ATD-6000
A BIOS or firmware package for ATD-3000/ATD-6000 isn't available because the hardware manufacturer made the server system End of Support.

Technical Support can change the security parameters of the firmware through IPMI over a remote session.
Create a Service Request, provide this article number, and request a remote session.

IMPORTANT: The back-end change disables the weak cipher used in the RMM or IPMI on ATD-3000/ATD-6000. As a side effect, the login for the BMC Web Console no longer works after the operation.

To create a Service Request, log on to the ServicePortal:

If you are a registered user, type your User ID and Password, and then click Log In.
If you are not a registered user, click Register and complete the fields. Your password and instructions are emailed to you.

Log on to the ATD or IS manager.
Click Dashboard, System Information, System Type.

How to identify appliance hardware model from CLI:

Log on to the ATD or IS CLI using cliadmin credentials.
Type show and press Enter.
In the output, look for the System Type field.
