Umlaut characters don't work as Executable Signer values

Environment

Endpoint Security (ENS) Firewall 10.x

Problem

Some umlaut characters are not working properly as Executable Signer values. These characters include the ö and ü characters.

Solution

This issue is resolved in ENS 10.6.1 February 2021 Update and ENS 10.7.0 February 2021 Update.

Workaround

For ENS Firewall, substitute the lowercase characters (for example, ö and ü) with the uppercase character equivalent (for example, Ö and Ü). You can replace these characters using the Alt-codes below.

ö	Alt + 148
Ö	Alt + 153
ü	Alt + 129
Ü	Alt + 154

Example of original Executable Signer for ENS Firewall
C=DE, ST=Baden-Württemberg, L=Göppingen, O=TeamViewer Germany GmbH, CN=TeamViewer Germany GmbH

Example of modified Executable Signer for ENS Firewall:
C=DE, ST=Baden-WÜrttemberg, L=GÖppingen, O=TeamViewer Germany GmbH, CN=TeamViewer Germany GmbH
